shadow at my feet, no way out either

love or conformity i asked for neither-

human minds crave the majestic acceptance

so i turn my back in a violent penance-

there’s an angle in the way they’re leaning

eyes surround me with stark vulture meaning-

death is a release too passing to enjoy

so i bear mortal burden, discontinued toy-

your promises come forth just to shatter

do feelings of the lost ever even matter?

i tread the crowd and swimming i’ve tried

souls claim they care and every has lied-

in the water, the silhouette of a viper

a crying outcast that does no good but bite her-

i carry the poison like a blackened veil

if you want to listen just follow its trail.
